Building a Stakeholders' Dream Home
Role: Instructional Designer
Context
In this project, I was tasked with completing a home renovation for a couple as part of a course on project management. I had to simulate meetings with stakeholders and assess their needs, budget, and timeline. I had to research all the required materials, vendors, contractors, and other personnel. I had to ensure that I was staying under budget and on time throughout the process.
Tools
The tools used were mainly through Google Suite. I used Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides to be able to track budgets, denote potential risks, and present ideas to the stakeholders.
I had to ensure that I was staying under budget and on time throughout the process. This included making several key decisions, such as which aspects of the project to prioritize if there was a weather event, when to use the reserve budget to meet the stakeholder needs, and how to stay within the bounds of the timeline I had set for the project.

Learning Outcomes
Overall, the project was a success as I was able to complete everything on time and on budget. It was a very eye-opening experience for me as I saw all the moving parts of a single project in action. I loved working hard to ensure that everything was going according to plan and assessing the potential risks of key decisions. I would love the opportunity to work on a project like this again.
